What is happening when you add skittles and water together? The skittles start to dissolve in the water. This is because skittles are made of ingredients that can dissolve in water. They also do it quickly, so you have neat science right away, and a fun paint to use. Dissolving candy is fun to test out with a variety of liquids and candies. PUMPKIN PAINTING WITH SKITTLES PAINT
SUPPLIES:
- Skittles
- Water
- Paintbrush
- Printable pumpkin template
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1. Download and print out the pumpkin template.
STEP 2. Add 1 teaspoon of water and several colored skittles to a cup. Leave the skittles to dissolve for about 5 minutes.
Tip: Mix colored candy together to make secondary colors as necessary.
- Red + Yellow = Orange
- Blue + Yellow = Green
- Red + Blue = Purple
STEP 3. Paint the pumpkin with the skittles watercolor paint.
