I love fall science experiments and sensory play! Anything that bubbles, oozes, and erupts makes a great activity around here. Usually we stick with our favorite homemade liquid starch slime for non messy slime play like our Fall Slime. However, this bubbling slime recipe is really neat and also pretty simple. Grab these kitchen ingredients and get started with bubbling slime!

BUBBLING SLIME FOR FALLÂ
Kids love to play with xanthum gum slime in their favorite slime colors!  Slime making is even more fun when you add in a baking soda and vinegar reaction. We have quite a few fall activities to share, and we are always adding more!

Slime making is a serious matter with kids, and I know everyone is looking for the best slime recipes around. Bubbling slime is yet another AMAZING slime recipe we can show you how to make.
We also tried this bubbling slime with LEGO play!
My son can be a bit weary of new textures and this bubbling slime certainly has a different texture than our other slime recipes. But it is still tons of fun to try!
We have done so many traditional baking soda and vinegar experiments (check them out here) so the thick gooey slime was a fun change! We were both excited to see the reaction this xanthum gum slime would make when it hit the baking soda. The fizzing was louder and slower, and the bubbling was grander. It reminded me of a simmering stew, perfect for Fall!
Observe, explore and discover with bubbling slime!
Check out the gooey mixture and the oozing awesomeness of this bubbling slime. It’s pretty cool for adults too!
We enjoyed adding small acrylic leaves, pumpkins and even a real gourd!
The bubbling slime reacts all on its own, give a stir and watch it bubble even more!
Extreme bubbling slime! Stir quickly and really get your slime going!
Adding fun fall items to the bubbling slime, and also vigorous stirring was lots of fun!
BUBBLING SLIME RECIPE
I found the exact recipe here (click here) developed by Epic Fun For Kids, so I ask you to visit the site to view it.  Three ingredients and that’s it! Easy bubbling slime to amaze everyone!
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 1/4 teaspoon Xanthum Gum (specialty grocery)
- 2 cups White Vinegar
- Enough Baking Soda to cover the bottom of your container
- Food Coloring
- Water
- Bowl, Whisk, Spoon, Baking Dish 8×8 or similar container
- Fall Novelty Items (check craft and dollar stores or see links below)
HOW TO MAKE XANTHUM GUM SLIME
Mix the xanthum gum into the vinegar vigorously. Then leave for a few hours or overnight before using,
Notes to make easy slime: I followed the recipe exactly and let the slime sit in the fridge for a few hours. It still had some white lumps in it so maybe next time I will let it sit overnight. I did put a thin layer of baking soda on the bottom of the dish but I wish I had put a slightly thicker layer. Next time! Still lots of bubbling and fizzing action!

hiw long does the bubbling last when you put this one over the banking soda?
Depends on amount of baking soda and how fast you stir. We used just a small amount of baking soda and the reaction lasted all afternoon and if you stirred it got very bubbly. Next time I will use a thicker layer on the bottom.
