One of the best things about the holiday season is all the supplies we use to wrap presents, bake cookies, and decorate! I had a plan this year to come up with a list of super simple Christmas STEM and science activities that kids can do with your holiday supplies. From left over ribbon and cards to scraps of paper to cookie cutters, kids will have a great time both learning and playing.

Joining me for a week or more of awesome Christmas STEM with all our holiday supplies is Carla from Preschool Powol Packets. Our kids enjoy similar activities and will each be tackling some simple Christmas science and STEM projects with whatever supplies we have around the house for the holiday season.

STEM or science, technology, engineering, and math is so very important for kids to experience from a young age. STEM is the world around us. It is thinking and doing, problem solving and analyzing, designing and engineering. STEM projects provide many valuable life lessons your kids will use for the rest of their lives.

I know STEM sounds tricky, but it really isn’t. Plus it doesn’t have to be expensive either! I love using what I have all around the house and in my cupboards to do some really cool and inexpensive STEM projects. Make sure to check your recycling bin for cool materials you can set aside for your STEM ideas.
