Easter Baking Soda Science Activity
EASTER BAKING SODA SCIENCE
Sometimes the best experiments are the ones you find around the house. This baking soda science activity comes right out of your kitchen cupboards. If you are like us, you will end up stocking up on baking soda and vinegar for whenever the mood strikes for fizzy fun.
SUPPLIES USED:
Plastic Eggs

Egg Tray
Eyedropper
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Food Coloring
Small Containers {to separate colored vinegars}
We buy our eggs in bulk and end up with a lot of these nifty egg trays which are perfect for all sorts of activities like this Easter baking soda science one. A smaller egg carton with fewer eggs would be fine too (even a plate works). For us, the more plastic eggs the better! The more chances for fizzing fun, the better too!
Coloring vinegar is simple and fun for kids to help with too!
A simple eye dropper works great for this Easter baking soda science activity. He loves the instant reaction the vinegar and baking soda make immediately! This type of science experiment is always very visually engaging for young children and can really hold their interest too!
There is nothing more satisfying than the the bubbling, fizzing action of baking soda science!
We both love watching the eggs fizz up and over the top in this Easter egg baking soda science set up.
Watch out Easter baking soda science can get a little messy!
Eye droppers provide easy fine motor skills practice in a fun way!
Early learning starts with experimenting, observing and talking! Talk with your child about what you both see, hear, and smell. Ask them what they see happening? What does the fizzing feel like? Do you hear the eggs fizz? This Easter baking soda science experiment is a great way to peak your child’s curiosity. What’s happening is called a chemical reaction. When the two mix they produce a gas called carbon dioxide which is the fizzing you can hear and see!
We washed our eggs in a simple soapy water sensory bin!
Two fun Easter activities in one that is sure to delight all your kids and keep them busy!

I follow you daily/weekly for the letter of the week that I do with my Pre preschool kids. I haven’t started them in a real preschool program as of yet as they are just 3 but wanted them to be ready for the preschool in the fall. Its been sooo much fun following your activities!! you make my work so much easier. We will do this activity this week and follow by egg washing. Thank you.
