This is an awesome quick, easy, and fun 4th of July art project to do with all ages! Even I had fun too! Try this process art project by painting with pompoms and make your own fireworks painting to celebrate the holiday! I have been talking up fireworks since we will be out on Cape Cod for the 4th of July this year and pretty much each town has a grand set of fireworks covering the whole week.
Glittery Pom Pom Fireworks Painting
WHAT IS PROCESS ART?
For children, the real fun (and learning) is in the process, not the product. Kids want to make a mess. They want their senses to come alive. They want to feel and smell and sometimes even taste the process. They want to be free to let their minds wander through the creative process.
How can we help them reach this state of ‘flow’ – (the mental state of being completely present and fully immersed in a task)? The answer is process art!
TURN POM POMS INTO BRUSHES!
A fun aspect of prospect art is making your own brushes!
YOU WILL NEED:
- Washable Paint
- Pom Poms
- Black Paper
HOW TO MAKE THIS FIREWORKS PAINTING
- STEP 1: Set out materials in an easy to use invitation!
- STEP 2: Encourage your kiddo to test out the new brushes with different colors of paint!
- STEP 3: Add a bit of glitter for a sparkle if desired!
I love the way the fireworks sparkle with the glitter!
Remember, the end result is not the purpose here, the process and journey along the way is the best part. We did not have a finished piece in mind for this, and there were no expectations but to have fun and explore the pom pom brushes!
