Summer Watermelon Pops Kids Can Make Too!
Make a healthy treat for the whole family to enjoy!
Keep cool this summer with our easy and healthy Summer watermelon pops. As a mom, I never say no to seconds and thirds of these one ingredient watermelon pops. Grab some cookie cutters and skewers and let’s get started!
I am sure there are bunch of ways to slice up the watermelon for our summer frozen watermelon pops. Handling a whole melon can be a challenge so be safe and keep kids away from your cutting area. From the photos above, you can see that I halved the watermelon and then cut slices big enough to fit our cookie cutters. I did cut away the rind. If you make a slice to thick, you can slice it in half and it is easier without the rind. Use your cookie cutters to make what every shapes you want!
Take a skewer and push it all the way to the top of the shape without actually coming out the top! I placed ours on a cookie sheet with parchment paper, but a non stick pan should be fine. Not one bit of watermelon was wasted making these frozen summer watermelon pops! We saved the scraps and odds and ends for more healthy snacking throughout the week. {That dish is actually empty right now!} Make sure to grab a melonballer and see how we make fruit flavored water for a refreshing summer drink!
Summer watermelon pops fresh out of the freezer!
He could barely wait for our summer watermelon pops to freeze and for morning to come. I prepped them after dinner so he could still enjoy some fresh watermelon right away. I think the look on his face says it all.
He may have eaten one or two or three of these! But that’s the great thing about a healthy snack!
