Scissor Activities for Cutting Practice
Hands On Play For Strengthening Little Hands
Today is all about cutting practice and scissor skills! Strengthening little hands while having loads of fun is my number one goal here. We use everyday tools to work on skills and find simple ways to play and laugh too!
Scissor Activities For Cutting Practice
Using scissors is a very important fine motor skill! I used to think that cutting practice was all about following the lines! Yes, it is necessary to be able to follow the lines, but there are so many way to make cutting practice fun and interesting. Strengthening little hands is the first step and making it fun for lots of extra practice is just what you need! Use simple materials from around the house to make cutting practice feel more like play! Ever since our first cutting skills tray (click here), I have wanted to make more!
Most people save bows for wrapping, but I knew just what I wanted to do with this one!
Simple holiday ribbon leftovers make great snipping practice!
Cutting practice with fun themed paper with built in lines makes following along fun!
Drinking straws are ALWAYS a favorite around here for cutting practice. We do this one regularly and makes a great busy activity when I need a few extra minutes! This whole box of cutting practice activities made a great morning time play idea and kept him independently busy for quite awhile. Pack it up and take it with you!
Next time you receive a present save some of the awesome goodies it comes wrapped in for your fine motor play!
