Simple & Quick Christmas Activities
There is still time to enjoy some fun holiday themed activities!
The kids are out of school and you still have a few days left before the holidays. Entertain everyone with some simple to put together Christmas activities from items you probably already have around the house. If you don’t have the exact thing you see below, improvise and find something that will also work! You don’t need to go to another store to get materials. Look around the house! Make it simple and fun! These Christmas activities are sure to delight and entertain everyone, even the adults!
We recycled old holiday cards and turned them into a fun make your own puzzle tray! Let older kids cut the pieces themselves and help the younger kids by pre cutting the pieces! Either way, this is fun, simple and easy to put together in a few minutes!
All you need is cookie cutters, a cookie sheet, baking soda, vinegar and food coloring. Glitter optional! Easy set up and clean up but a whole lot of fizzing and bubbling fun!
Set the children up with crayons, bows, ribbon, stamps, plain bags, tissue paper, and whatever else you might have on hand and let them try to wrap a gift or two. There is also a super simple popsicle star ornament in this post that everyone can make and I am not all that crafty with glue! Don’t have presents to wrap? Turn it into a card making station!
Grab a clear bin or basket and throw in a bunch of different items for the kids to explore! Add rice or beans or whatever for filling and dumping. Want to do a little sink or float with Christmas items? Add water instead. Snip off pieces of your tree for a scentsory experience too! You don’t need to copy one of these ideas perfectly! Use them as a guide to poke around your house and see what you already have on hand! There are 6 different bins to check out!
Doesn’t get any easier than this especially if you are already in the kitchen baking and prepping for the holiday! Simple and fun and your kids will be amazed. Have everyone guessing what will happen?
You can always fit in a little counting and math whenever. I put out a simple tray of Christmas themed items and a jar with different number written on paper. He needed to count each item and pick out the right number! This is also self-correcting (as long as you counted correctly)!
I hope you found a little something to try with your kids!
I know we have a few more things to fit in this holiday season.
