Tips & Tricks For An Easy Snowflake Painting

  • Make sure you have a good surface to make your snowflake artwork.
  • You can use simple blue painters tape or a fancier craft tape if you want to create your snowflakes.
  • There is nothing perfect about our snowflakes except that they have six arms, not eight!
  • Generally, snowflakes are symmetrical, so you can encourage learning about symmetry while creating the snowflakes out of tape.
  • Make sure the tape is pressed down well before pulling out the paints. You don’t want paint going under the tape.
  • You can mix several colors of blue paint or add some white paint to create different shades of blue.
  • We think all the extra brushstrokes make a fun wintery or windy effect like swirling snowflakes, so don’t worry about smoothing out every stroke!
