The earlier the better when it comes to reading and sharing books with your kids. Young kids truly benefit from the joys of reading as much as the older kids do. All kids can enjoy starting reading journals whether they are writing a few words, single sentences, or complex paragraphs. Even the tiny artist will love a reading journal!

To be honest, I hadn’t expected my so to be as excited as he was to pick up this journal and use it. I had glanced through it and noticed how interesting the questions and suggestions were which makes this Reading Adventures Journal a bit more unique than others I have seen.

Make journaling fun and exciting for kids. Have a basket of special supplies handy! Include stamps, colored pencils, fine tip colored pens, scrapbook stickers, crayons, or whatever your kids love to use!

A reading journal doesn’t have to be dry and boring. Liven it up with color and pictures too. Reading and all the activities surrounding reading should be fun. Like I said above, a reading journal encourages creativity and should bring out the passion inside a kid!
