SUPPLIES
Styrofoam tree
Pins
Sequins
Small buttons
Ribbon
Star
I purchased a large styrofoam tree shape from the craft store and hunted around my crafting things for decorations. I decided to use these colored straight pins for our fine motor skills work.
(PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, I fully supervised my child, I decided he was capable of doing this safely before starting the project, and I discussed with him the importance of safety. Please judge your child’s ability and act accordingly)!

I had lots of buttons and sequins with holes in the center for him to add to the pins. I had a roll of ribbon for him to wind around the tree as well. Together we made a star out of yellow felt by cutting two stars out of the felt and gluing them together with a pin head between the two.
Additionally, I helped start the ribbon by placing the pin at the top and every so often as he went around. I tried to be as hands-off as possible and let him work at it and enjoy the process even if it didn’t look perfect!
