Make your own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Sensory Bottle or four! My son has each Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle memorized, so we have had a lot of fun turning these characters into sensory bottles. It all started with our Minion Sensory Bottle, and now he has plans for all his favorite characters and action figures. This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Sensory Bottle is fun to make, but so much fun for kids. My son keeps these on his bookcase. They also make a great calm down tool to keep on hand.

You can’t make just one Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Sensory Bottle! You have to make them all! Just like our TMNT Pencil Cases, I had to make him all 4 turtles once he saw the first one.

SUPPLIES

Craft stores sell little packages of loom bands for .99! I love the VOSS water bottles for making sensory bottles. They are both durable and reusable for a couple dollars each. You can use colored tape or colored masking tape. I have provided Amazon links below if you need some help finding these items.

Loom Bands {4 Green Packages}

Colored Craft Tape or Masking Tape {orange, red, purple, and blue}

MAKE YOUR OWN TEENAGE MUTANT SENSORY BOTTLE!

We begin by adding the package of loom bands into an empty bottle. Not bad for working on fine motor skills either!

TMNT Sensory Bottle Fine Motor Loom Band

Squeeze a few good squirts of clear hair gel into the bottle.

Add water until you reach the point before it narrows.

Add food coloring if desired. It looks fun both ways. We added two drops of liquid green food coloring. For our Minion Sensory Bottle we did not add food coloring if you want to check it out.

At this point, I would stick a long utensil into the bottle and give it a good stir to incorporate the gel and food coloring.

Cap tightly {You can hot glue the cap if desired. We have not had to do this.}

Add a different colored mask to each bottle by wrapping tape around bottle at desired height.

Glue on two google eyes.

Draw on a mouth with a permanent marker like a Sharpie { I like to practice on a piece of paper first.}

  1. i bought a case of these water bottles for use in our classroom for discovery bottles. We have a tile floor. I had a problem with breakage any time they were dropped. The lids are very fragile.

  2. That’s odd. My son drops his often on the wood floor without a problem. I wonder if you got a batch with not so great manufacturing.

  3. What kind of water bottles are these. I really like the look …better than the traditional water bottle.

  4. Hi! There is a supply list included in the article. Please check it out and let me know if you have any other questions!

  5. I can’t get the Looms to sink down to the bottom! They all float at the top, how can I fix this?

  6. You may need more hair gel. Use something long to poke them down into it. You can also try corn syrup!
