Rainbow In A Bag Art For Kids

Looking for a quick and easy art activity for the kids? If you love the colors of the rainbow, here’s a simple and mess free sensory bag painting for kids.

HOW IS A RAINBOW MADE?

A rainbow is formed when light passes through water droplets hanging in the atmosphere.  The water droplets break white sunlight into the seven colors of the visible spectrum.  You can only see a rainbow when the sun is behind you and the rain in front of you.

RAINBOW IN A BAG YOU WILL NEED: – Gallon size zip top bag – Piece of white paper (may need to be cut down to fit inside the bag) – Paint (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)

STEP 1. Make a large rainbow arch on the piece of white paper with the red paint. Continue to make an arch in each color of the rainbow with the paint.

STEP 2. Carefully place the paper into the gallon-sized zipper bag. Be careful not to touch the paint against the bag when placing the paper inside the bag.

STEP 3. Seal the bag and make sure the bag is completely closed. At this point, it’s ok that the paint touches the bag.
