FUN DIY SLIME WITHOUT GLUE!
If you have ever wanted to make jiggly slime without glue then you have come to the right place. This slime recipe is super jiggly and wiggly and has a much different consistency than other slime recipes. I think your kids are going to love the texture of this no-glue slime. It’s fantastic for sensory play!
Note: this is not a recipe for slime without glue and borax! It is also NOT an edible slime. Although this no glue slime recipe uses an edible ingredient, it still uses one of our primary slime activators.
TIP: We DO NOT make slimes with lotions, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, salt, or body wash here as they simply aren’t worth the time and money.
We have made this slime without glue several times now, and it comes together quickly and easily. Read on to find out the best ingredients for making slime without glue and more great ideas for no glue slime-making fun!
HOW TO MAKE SLIME WITHOUT GLUE
The texture of this slime is AMAZING and not sticky at all. You will find that although it’s a much different texture than our traditional homemade slimes, it doesn’t leave a mess on your hands.
We call this JIGGLY slime and you can watch a video below to see how jiggly it really is!
However, you will want to keep in mind that the slime consistency will be very unique. It doesn’t have the same type of stretch you might be used to with our regular saline solution slime recipe. You will see in the photos that it is a very fluid material that will be lots of fun to play with just the same.
Because this homemade slime uses a unique recipe, I will go step by step with plenty of pictures! We do use our favorite slime activator which is a combination of baking soda and saline solution (not contact lens solution).
Unlike traditional slime recipes that use borax or liquid starch, this version of slime still uses a common slime activator (saline solution) that contains boric acid and sodium borate which are members of the boron family.
What are the unique ingredients to make slime without glue?
GUAR GUM! It’s a natural thickener!
If you don’t have Guar Gum but still want to make slime without glue, check out our other no glue slime recipes at the bottom of this page.

Definitely going to use this recipe. My granddaughter won’t stop making the glue slime.
I made this slime (saline solution, guar gum recipe) about a week ago and it has been played with daily. I opened the container yesterday and it was a liquid. Is this normal or did I do something wrong? I want to make for party gifts but I don’t want it to turn to a liquid.
This is normal. It doesn’t hold together like traditional slime for as long. I am surprised it lasted a week!
Yes it’s pretty normal. It doesn’t hold together like traditional glue slimes.
Can you use Xanthum Gum instead of Guar Gum and still have the same results?
