HOW TO MAKE A MAGNETIC MAZE PUZZLE
STEP 1. Draw a simple maze on the paper plate with pencil.
STEP 2. Trace over the paper plate maze with black marker.
Optional: Use colored pencils or markers to decorate your maze.
STEP 3. Place the paper clip at the start of the maze and use the magnet to guide it through the maze to the other end.
Either use the magnet underneath the plate or from above to pull the paper clip forward. What do you find works best?
STEP 4. Increase the difficulty level by using a timer. How fast can you complete the maze?
HOW DOES A MAGNETIC MAZE WORK?
Magnets can either pull toward each other or push away from each other. Grab a few magnets and check this out for yourself!
Usually, magnets are strong enough for you to use one magnet to push another around on top of a table and never have them touch each other. Give it a try!
When magnets pull together or bring something closer, it is called attraction. When magnets push themselves or things away, they repel.
