In this sunflower art activity, kids begin with a printable sunflower template, then paint and decorate the pieces before cutting and assembling them into a finished piece with a vase and pipe cleaner stems. The process encourages exploration of color, shape, and composition while giving children freedom to use different art materials and express their own ideas.

This project is open-ended, flexible for different ages, and easy to facilitate with groups or individual learners, keeping the focus on creative exploration rather than technical perfection.

    Vincent van Gogh for Kids

Vincent van Gogh is known for expressive brushstrokes, bold colors, and swirling movement. The Starry Night, painted in 1889, is one of his most recognizable works and shows how artists use motion and color to create mood and energy.

While the original painting is not mixed media, its movement and texture make it a great inspiration for hands-on art projects with kids.
