✏️ A Note About the Printable

This printable is designed as a helpful starting point, not a strict set of rules.

Kids can follow the pattern wheel for guidance, or they can create their own patterns, choose their own colors, and fill the sections however they like. The goal is to explore creativity, not to make every flower look the same.

Encourage kids to experiment, take risks, and make their artwork their own!

    Tips for Success

    • Use bright, contrasting colors
    • Fill each section with a different pattern
    • Outline sections with bold black lines
    • Encourage creativity—every flower will look different

What Kids Learn (Art Concepts + STEAM)

This activity introduces key concepts from the 7 elements of art, especially pattern, color, and shape.

👉 Learn more about these concepts in our 7 Elements of Art for Kids

    • Pattern (Primary Focus): Kids create repeating designs like dots, lines, and shapes to fill each section.
    • Color: Using bold and contrasting colors helps each section stand out.
    • Shape & Space: Breaking the flower into sections helps kids understand composition and layout.

This activity is a great example of process art, where the focus is on creativity and exploration rather than perfection.
