- Yellow, orange, and green construction paper

HOW TO MAKE A HANDPRINT SUN
STEP 1. Paint the paper plate with yellow paint.
STEP 2. Trace your child’s hand on paper. Cut the handprint from paper. Use the handprint as a template to cut additional hands to be the sun rays.
Tip: For younger kids, you may want to cut out a handful of hands prior to the activity. Extend the activity with older kiddos by having them cut out their own handprints.
STEP 3. Attach the handprints around the edge of the paper plate with glue.
STEP 4. Next attach the googly eyes and chenille stem (mouth) with glue to the middle of the paper plate. Alternatively, draw a smiley face in the center of your sun.
STEP 5. Glue or tape the paper plate to a Popsicle stick if desired. Then allow the craft to dry completely before playing or displaying.
