Water Balloon Number Blast Activity

We had a huge supply of water balloons on hand still this summer!  I thought I would do a quick and easy water balloon number blast activity! Our alphabet and shapes water balloon activity {post here} was a hit, so I figured this one would be too. I was right! Really the hardest part is the time it takes to blow up all the balloons. For this number activity, I decided 20 water balloons would be fine! I numbered each one from 1-20 with a permanent marker, put them in a bowl, and headed outside!

I wrote all the numbers out in a big circle around our driveway!

And then I sent him running around it a few times and calling out numbers!

Needed to use up some energy so he could concentrate a little better and not be too excited to blast those numbers! I set the bowl of water balloons in the middle of the circle. He chose one, called out the number and then went to find the number on the circle and blast it! Lots of high energy fun!

Numbers 1-10 were easy! We are still working on recognizing and saying the numbers 11-19. Every now and then he would run the circle to find what he was looking for. The poor number 9 balloon had to be made three times! First it broke, then it rolled away and broke and finally it sort of made it to the right spot! Water balloons are a hands on hit around here.
