REVERSE PAINTING ON GLASS

Reverse glass paintings are created when an image is painted onto glass to be viewed from the other side. It began in
Europe as a technique used for religious works of art.

Reverse painting on glass is viewed similarly to stained glass, but its creation does not involve firing in a kiln. The paint layers are applied in reverse order, starting with the front most layer and ending with the back layer. The art is then flipped over to reveal the final design.

Famous Russian artist, Wassily Kandinsky used this method for over 70 pieces of his artwork.
