Dinosaur Stamping

Stamping is a fun art activity that even toddlers and preschoolers can do! Did you know stamping or print making has a history that dates to ancient times, with paint, ink and rubber being a relatively recent invention to the process.

One of the first examples of stamping art was using wax to seal folded paper. Those wax seals were important for verifying the authenticity of products, correspondence and important documents. The seal stamps would have originally been carved out of stone or bone.

Here you can create your own prints with a fun dino stomp or stamp. Follow the dinosaur footprints and work out what the dinosaurs have been up to! Get a bit messy? No worries, get out a bowl of soapy water or some fun bath play to get the dinosaurs and little hands clean!

We have also had fun stamping with bubble wrap, cardboard tubes, potatoes and corks. You can find tons more easy painting ideas for kids!
