EASY DIWALI CRAFT FOR KIDS TO MAKE
WHAT DOES DIWALI MEAN?
Diwali is the most important Hindu festival, and is also called The Festival of Lights. The festival marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year.
The name, the festival of lights, comes from the row of clay lamps (diyas) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.
Diwali is celebrated for five days. On the main day of the festival, families gather together for Lakshmi puja, a prayer to Goddess Lakshmi, and then they gather for feasts and fireworks. The subject of the celebration represents the triumph of good over evil.
