Frida’s Flowers Art Project
SUPPLIES:
- Frida coloring page (below)
- Markers
- Scissors
- Glue
- Colored paper
- Stapler
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: Print Frida’s template and color with the markers.
STEP 2: Cut out Frida’s image and glue onto canvas.
STEP 3: To create Frida’s headpiece use the circle template to cut out six circles of colored paper, three of each color.
STEP 4: Fold the circles in half and then fold again. Do this with all three circles.
STEP 5: Stack the three circles together, then flatten them and staple them together in the middle. (see photo)
STEP 6: Now ‘fluff’ the flowers open and glue onto Frida’s head.

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo lived a fascinating life and was a painter known for her self portraits. With her striking looks and unique dress sense, Frida Kahlo is not only one of the most influential artists of her generation but also a unique style icon.
Frida Kahlo was influenced greatly by Mexican culture, as shown by her work and dress. Her clothing was considered offbeat and unconventional for the time. She often wore flowers and used them in her paintings to celebrate her national heritage.
