Who is Frida Kahlo?
Frida Kahlo is one of history’s most famous Mexican artists, known for her self-portraits and deeply personal artwork.
Born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón in Coyoacán, Mexico City, she overcame many challenges, including polio at an early age and a terrible bus accident that left her with lifelong injuries. Despite these hardships, Frida used art to express her Mexican heritage, emotions, and identity.
Her home, La Casa Azul (The Blue House) in Mexico City, is now a museum where visitors can see her paintings, special easel, jewelry, and famous self-portraits like The Two Fridas, The Wounded Deer, and The Broken Column. Her work continues to inspire kids and artists worldwide.
