Looking for a fun fall-themed art activity for the kiddos? We have tried leaf salt painting and painting leaves with black glue, but this leaf art activity has to be the easiest yet! Mess-free painting in a bag is sensory fun for kids.
Leaf Painting in a Bag
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Tempera Paint
- Gallon zip-top freezer bag
- Masking tape
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Template (see below)

HOW TO MAKE LEAF PAINTING IN A BAG
STEP 1. Trace the template of your choosing over cardstock and cut out the design.
STEP 2. Squeeze a good size blob of paint into the plastic bag. Then release all the air from the bag and seal. We used two colors for our leaf painting.
STEP 3. Choose whether to tape the plastic bag to the table OR to the cardstock. If you are taping the plastic bag to the table, tape the cardstock over the plastic bag.
STEP 4. Now time for squishy mess free fun! Get your kiddos to move the paint around the bag with their fingers to fill the open space in the cardstock.
