Homemade sensory play is a great way to occupy a morning or afternoon at home or in the classroom with some hands-on fun! Even better this colorful paint in a bag idea is a fun way of doing finger painting with toddlers and preschoolers without the big clean up!

We love hands-on tactile play with all sorts of sensory recipes for kids. This simple leaf painting in a bag activity requires just a few supplies. Fun for all ages and great to add to a fall theme this season!

LEAF PAINTING IN A BAG

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Tempera Paint
Gallon zip-top freezer bag
Masking tape
Cardstock
Scissors
Template

HOW TO MAKE LEAF PAINTING IN A BAG

STEP 1. Trace the template of your choosing over cardstock and cut out the design.

STEP 2. Squeeze a good size blob of paint into the plastic bag. Then release all the air from the bag and seal. We used two colors for our leaf painting.

STEP 3. Choose whether to tape the plastic bag to the table OR to the cardstock. If you are taping the plastic bag to the table, tape the cardstock over the plastic bag.

STEP 4. Now time for squishy mess free fun! Get your kiddos to move the paint around the bag with their fingers to fill the open space in the cardstock.
