How do you make homemade finger paint?  Only a few simple ingredients are needed for super fun, non-toxic finger paint.  Much safer than making finger paint using washable paint, especially for little ones who put everything in their mouth!

FINGER PAINT RECIPE

YOU WILL NEED:

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons liquid dish soap
  • Gel food coloring

HOW TO MAKE FINGER PAINT

STEP 1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.

STEP 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens into a jelly consistency. The paint will thicken slightly as it cools.

STEP 3. Divide the mixture into separate containers. Add gel food coloring as desired and stir to combine.

Time to do some finger painting! 

HOW LONG DOES HOMEMADE FINGER PAINT LAST?

Homemade finger paint can be stored in airtight containers at room temperature for up to 7 days.  The paint may need to be stirred prior to use.
