A NUTCRACKER CHRISTMAS
The Nutcracker story is about a girl who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King. Get ready to make your own fun Nutcracker puppets without having to draw one with our downloadable printable.
Our simple Christmas activities are designed with you, the parent or teacher, in mind! Easy to set up, quick to do, most activities will take only 15 to 30 minutes to complete and are heaps of fun! Plus, our supplies lists usually contain only free or cheap materials you can source from home!
NUTCRACKER CHRISTMAS CRAFT
YOU WILL NEED:
- Colored cardstock papers
- Popsicle sticks
- Pencil
- Pen
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Printable Template
HOW TO MAKE NUTCRACKER PUPPETS
STEP 1: Print and cut the nutcracker template patterns out.

STEP 2: Then trace the patterns onto the selected cardstock papers. Use scissors to cut out the nutcracker pieces from the paper.
STEP 3: GLUE YOUR PIECES TOGETHER
- Attach the zigzag bordered strip along the top side of the hat cutout.
- Attach the smaller parts of the uniform onto the big part of the uniform.
- Attach the hair cutout on the backside of the base cutout, by leaving a cm from the top end of the base.
- Last but not least, attach the boots along the bottom end of the uniform.
NOTE: This is a really good activity for kids to practise following instructions.
STEP 4: Attach the nutcracker hat on the top side of the base cutout; aligning the short end of the hat with the base. Attach the uniform on the bottom side of the base cutout.
STEP 5: Use a black gel pen or marker to draw the nutcracker eyes, mustache, nose and other features of the face.
STEP 6: Finally, glue the card stock nutcracker on a Popsicle stick to complete the nutcracker puppet craft.
