WHO IS BRONWYN BANCROFT?
Bundjalung woman, Bronwyn Bancroft is an Australian Indigenous artist and children’s book illustrator who has published over 40 books.
Bancroft’s work focuses on her home country, its animals, the beauty of its land, and its history. Her work often reflects the climate of Australia, from the harsh deserts to the sub-tropical rainforests. Bancroft uses bold, bright colors in her paintings.
Bancroft was also a fashion designer, known for her colorful fabrics and textiles. Within and beyond her artistic works, Bancroft has been active for a range of social issues, particularly those affecting Indigenous Australians.

Let’s create a landscape painting in the colorful and bold style of artist, Bronwyn Bancroft!

COLORFUL LANDSCAPE ART

SUPPLIES:
- Landscape printable (see below)
- Watercolors
- Acrylic paint
- Toothpicks
- Pencil
- Paintbrush
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1: Print the landscape template.
💡Note: You can display this landscape as inspiration but have kids create their own scene using this as a guide!

STEP 2: Using watercolor paints, paint the background designs. Use bright colors.


STEP 3: Using a layering technique, now add dots, lines, and patterns to your landscape over the watercolors. Make sure it is dry first!
Add the acrylic paint using toothpicks.

Or paint with the end of a pencil.

Or use a paintbrush. Make different size dots depending on what you use!

Continue until you have a bright and colorful landscape painting!
