CHRISTMAS PLAYDOUGH RECIPE

Why not add scented oils to your play dough to enhance the sensory play! You can add Christmas spices like cinnamon powder or clove oil for a calming Christmas playdough activity for the kids!

Remember, this Christmas playdough is NOT edible, but it is taste-safe!

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Green food coloring

Ingredients for Christmas playdough

HOW TO MAKE CHRISTMAS PLAYDOUGH

1:   Add the flour, salt, and cream of tartar to a medium mixing bowl and mix well.  Set aside.

Add dry ingredients to a bowl.

2:    Add the water and vegetable oil to a medium saucepan. Heat until boiling and then remove from the stove top.

Heat oil and water in a saucepan.

3:  Add a few drops of green food coloring to the liquid.

Add food coloring to the water and oil mixture.

4:    Then add the flour mixture to the hot water and stir continuously until a stiff ball of dough forms.

Add flour to the hot liquid and make into dough.

5: Remove the dough from the pan. Once cool knead your playdough until it is soft and pliable.
