How To Make An Easter Egg Sensory Bin

We used the colors yellow, pink, purple, and blue for our Easter sensory bin fillers. You do want to make sure that the colors you choose match your plastic eggs!

There are so many fun little ways you can play and learn with this Easter sensory bin, but make sure to give your kiddo some time to explore the materials before diving into a game! I have provided three simple ideas below, but you can add many more!

TIP: If you can find small little chicks (dollar store or craft store), as I have in the sensory bin shown below, you can make an additional game called hide the chick. Place one chick in a closed egg (have a dozen eggs). Take turns opening an egg until someone finds a chick!

3 Preschool Easter Games You Can Play

#1: Color Match

  1. Have the kiddo pick a colored plastic Easter egg from the bin.
  2. Then ask them to find colored pom-poms and/or foam balls to match the color of the egg.
  3. Open the egg, put the correct color pom-pom and/or foam ball in the egg, and close it.
  4. Have another go with a different-colored egg. Or it’s the next person’s turn!

#2: Classify

Another option for hands-on learning is sorting and classifying by physical characteristics such as shape, size, color, or texture! Let your kiddos choose! You can provide small containers and kid-friendly tongs (or kitchen tongs) to add fine motor skills practice to the activity!

#3: How Many?

How many pompoms fit in an Easter egg? Challenge your kiddo to fill an Easter egg and then count with you how many they were able to fit inside the egg.
