Who is Roy Lichtenstein?

Famous American artist, Roy Lichtenstein is known for his use of cartoon strips from American comic books, that were very popular in the 1950s.

Lichtenstein admired the skill of the comic book artist, who could create complicated stories of love and war in cartoon form.

Along with other great artists like Andy Warhol, Lichtenstein became a leading figure in the pop art movement.

Boo Who Art Activity

Supplies:

  • Pumpkin and Star templates (see below)
  • Black paper
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Instructions:

STEP 1: Print the templates.

STEP 2: Color the templates. Then cut them out.

STEP 3: Glue the shapes onto the black paper. Overlap the shapes, and then place the word on top of the shapes for a Lichtenstein inspired piece.
