Who is Georgia O’Keeffe?
Georgia O’Keeffe is an American artist who spent time in upstate New York at Lake George. She really enjoyed nature and collecting leaves. Most of her leaf design artwork featured the colors of fall, browns, reds, and greens.
One piece, titled ‘Autumn Leaves, Lake George’ was one of twenty-nine leaf pictures between 1922 and 1931, all based on the leaves she collected at the lake.
Though she painted mostly in oils, O’Keeffe experimented with multiple mediums throughout her career, including charcoal, watercolors, and pastels. However, pastels were the only mediums she used regularly over the years, along with oils.
