Each page of this printable includes charming holiday buildings—gingerbread-style homes, a toy shop, a bakery, a church, and even a Christmas tree scene — all designed to connect into one long fold-out village.
How to Make a Fold-Out Christmas Village
Supplies Needed
- Printable Christmas Village template
- Scissors
- Glue stick or clear tape
- Markers, crayons, or colored pencils
Step-By-Step Paper Village Instructions
Step 1: Print & Color
Print the template pages and color each building.
Kids can add snow, lights, brick texture, signs, or extra holiday decorations.
Step 2: Cut Out Each Village Panel
Carefully cut along the outside edges of the houses.
Each page includes a full set of buildings — see the house panels on pages 1–6 for examples.
Step 3: Fold Along the Dotted Lines
Fold on every FOLD line marked on the template (visible on each page).
This creates the village’s connected zigzag shape.
For example:
- Page 2 shows three houses with fold lines between each building.
- Page 4 shows another set of houses with center folds and edge folds.
Step 4: Glue the “PASTE” Tabs
Every page includes labeled PASTE tabs (visible on the right-hand buildings of pages 1–6).
Use these to attach each new section of the village to the next.
Step 5: Attach the Covers
The template includes:
- Front cover (page 1) with instructions printed above the house
- Back cover (page 7) with matching instructions
Glue the covers in place to finish the fold-out booklet style.
Step 6: Display Your Christmas Village!
Stand it on a shelf, mantel, classroom counter, or windowsill.
Kids can add figurines, LED tea lights, fake snow, or mini trees for extra fun.
