These simple templates make it quick and fun to create your own ornaments. Kids can color, cut, fold, and decorate however they like—no fancy supplies required!

How to Make DIY Christmas Ornaments
Supplies Needed
- Printable Christmas ornament templates
- Scissors
- Glue stick or tape
- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
- String or ribbon (optional)
Step-by-Step Ornament Instructions
Step 1: Print & Color
Print out the Christmas ornament template and decorate with any art supplies you have.
Kids can color the background, add a snowy sky, draw patterns, or use stickers. You can even turn it into a message ornament!
Step 2: Cut Out the Ornament
Carefully cut around the ornament shape. Younger kids may need help with this step.
Step 3: Fold & Glue
Fold along the solid black lines and glue the tabs to build your ornament.
You can keep it flat or pop it into a 3D shape depending on the template used.
Step 4: Add a Hanging Loop
Not shown in the example, but you can tape or glue a string inside or outside the ornament to hang it on your tree or bulletin board.
