WHO IS PABLO PICASSO?

Pablo Picasso was a famous artist from Spain known worldwide for his contributions to the art world. He was born in 1881 and lived to be 91. Picasso is famous for his paintings and sculptures, but he was also a printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer.

Picasso pioneered the Cubist art movement, which involved breaking down objects and people into geometric shapes and rearranging them in abstract compositions.

SUPPLIES:

• Heart Template (see below)
• Markers
• Oil pastels
• Colored pencils
• Watercolor

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Print out the heart template.

STEP 2: Using a ruler and marker to design your cubist style heart. Divide the heart and the background using nothing but straight lines. What shapes can you make?
