LEGO and Fall! Two of our favorite things! We made a LEGO apple tree mosaic. There are tons of fun ways to play with bricks and we love to find creative or “out of the box” uses for our bricks. This year we are starting Fall off with LEGO Apples. Explore the world of STEAM with our LEGO apple tree mosaic. A great way to incorporate building and design skills with art and problem solving. Counting apples is a bonus too!
LEGO Apple Tree Mosaic For Fall
What is a mosaic? A mosaic is a picture {or pattern} created with small or tiny pieces. Usually hard materials, so we chose LEGO pieces to make our LEGO apple tree mosaic!
Make a LEGO apple tree mosaic with your LEGO pieces. We chose to use our flat pieces of various sizes to create our LEGO apple tree mosaic. We also added in various sized small red pieces for apples. Use what you have if you only have the 2×1’s, 2×2’s, 2×4’s, or 2×6’s! You will also need a base plate for the LEGO apple tree mosaic.
MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT: BUILD LEGO APPLES
We started off with a blue base plate and chose various shades of green, flat LEGO bricks from our collection. We overlapped them for a fun effect. We used brown flat LEGO bricks for the tree trunk and branches. Again we overlapped them for a neat effect. Add small green flat pieces for leaves. Add a variety of small, red LEGO pieces for apples. We used 3-4 different pieces!

Our apple tree mosaic needed to have apples on the ground. I had him count out 20 apples and place them under the tree. These smaller LEGO pieces also encourage fine motor skills too. You can also pair it with a copy of Ten Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss to add a literacy component to your LEGO apple tree mosaic!
